01:04 am - on tour forever
Today I got 2 kill rock stars video fanzines in the post! I bought them from ebay for 99p, which was amazing as you can't get them anymore and they are amazing! highlights are the peechees, frumpies, emilys sassy lime videos ....brilliant! I also picked up a parcel that was for someone who used to live in our house years and years ago, a birthday parcel for a girl called annabella with dolls house furniture in it, this has provided me with an art project at long last! I will document it and its relevance to my work and then i will return it to the sender.
tomorrow is the first day of yet another attempt at eating healthier. ive been eating so many chips recently it i s not good.
we are doing a tape for club milk thats coming out in january! exciting! we are going to do another tour then too, hurrah, i want to go on tour forever, hopefully we can go with the computers to europe next year too

Today was (shock horror) a PRODUCTIVE day!! I went into university, gave a seminar on last years work and what I plan to do this year, had a lot of positive feedback, am in the process of booking out the "7" space at the request of my tutor for my house installation work and had a really positive thesis tutorial. So all in all a good days work!
I bought one of my favourite films 'wish you were here' and a delicious early 60s tea set in a charity shop today - hurrah for plymouth being rubbish!

11:40 pm - a slice of lemon
I am watching the Truman Show tonight, what a great film! I love it. It reminds me of The Prisoner. Today I have been packing up ebay stuff I have sold and not done any schoolwork although I have not even had any lectures or anything yet so I don't actually know whats going on. Tomorrow nights probs going to be awful as we haven't practiced and flo can't get there in time for soundcheck, the whole gig is turning out to be a disaster and a COSTLY one at that!!! I don't even want to play really anymore. Anyway at least ade and matt oi are coming up with us to make things a BIT more interesting!

09:00 pm - slamptrospective
On saturday we played at the Star and Shadow Cinema, a volunteer-run not-for-profit cinema (and bar/venue, info shop etc.) that has an anti-mainstream agenda and a ultra strong emphasis on community. We were asked to play the Slamptrospective - a celebration of the Slampt Underground Organsisation, and the first screening of the Slampt film (Slampt was an amazing d.i.y record & fanzine label that was influenced by the riot grrrl movement/k recs/international pop underground etc. that started out in the 90s with such bands as Red Monkey, Pussycat Trash, the Yummy Fur and International Strike Force to name but a few. Initially a cassette-only label they then progressed to vinyl and the occasional ‘reluctant’ cd towards the end!) – anyway we were totally excited to be asked and played alongside old Slampt faves (Red monkey reformed for one night/song only!) and the “new underground” of d.i.y. bands influenced by Slampt - Sad Shields, Humousexuals, Bilge Pump were amongst the EAGER! players.
Anyway, the show was amazing and it was great playing with friends and like-minded people, who seemed united in a sense of togetherness – from selling drinks at the bar to providing the (free) vegan food, to working the door to playing. Everything was done for the love of it, not for money. It was great to go to a place where so many different people wanted to help out for free – and by doing so were providing a space that ANYONE could be a part of, and were invited to do just that – volunteer, attend meetings etc. and in turn everyone who helps out – however little, has a say in the way the cinema is run.
It was so much fun and we all agreed it was the best show we have played so far! I really want to go back to Newcastle, from what little I saw of it, it looks like a really interesting place!

08:04 pm - illmm
I feel rotten, really ill, don't know why and its just come on really badly last night + today. I watched 'Dark Habits' today, the almodovar film, which was really good, there was this one bit where mother superior held a party and the party was amazing, like my DREAM party. I really think parties are the best things ever.
Tour was so good, I can't remember if I wrote ab out it, but it was wonderful meeting so many amazing people still totally active in the d.i.yladyfestish//queer feminist kind of scene, it was sooo good, nearlyall our shows were put on by likeminded people and it felt totally fantastic and empowering playing in such an environment, that pretty much encompasses all I believe in. It was funny because every house we stayed in had reoccurring similarities - certain books (d.i.y; the rise of lofi culture, manifesta, riot grrrl book to name buta few) records (ones I noticed that most people had that I am desperate for - the fakes real fiction lp + cupid car club 7" + phranc + viva knievel!) + a lot of moomin cups!
the day after we got home we wrote a new song which is good and short and its mainly good because flo and ted both sing on it and ted forgot the whole tour to sing. I can't wait til next weekend when we play the slamptrospective...I still feel so honoured to be asked to play.
back to reality working in exeter and getting drunk is boring/. I have to go back to school next week and feel sick about it, its so boring but I guess its only a few months. Im doing my dissertation on women, creativity and self destruction, obviously that is the vague topic and not the actual question but is something I feel very important on a personal level. especially since being in a band I feel like I have finally found some way of working stuff through in my head, which has helped me no end and I think its enabled me to channel stuff, without sounding ridiculous.
